Dive Bug Cayman

For all the latest on Grand Cayman's underwater scene!

Calm Sea

What to expect when diving in Grand Cayman.

What makes Grand Cayman diving great? Outstanding visibility (often 100ft), warm waters (between 79 and 81F) and plenty of current free diving. Shore dives can be found along the west side of the Island from Sunset house to Macabuca and offer, statues, wrecks, mini walls, coral reefs and swim throughs. You should also consider taking a boat out to one of the many other dive sites around the island to visit the spectacular wall and impressive wreck sites.

In terms of wildlife, expect to see an abundance of coral reef fish, southern stingrays and squid. If you spend a little longer in the water you should eventually come across nurse and reef sharks (and the occasional hammerhead), turtles, octopuses, eagle rays and eels.

The reefs have been effected by stony coral disease but are still stunning and can be found in waters of roughly 50ft around the island.

This website can help you plan your trip and identify what you find. Check out the most up to date information we have about the hundreds of dive sites around the island by following the links on the 'dive sites' page. This website is still a baby at the moment so keep checking back for more links and dive site information!
